Careinder General Industry CGI Oil Seal for Oil Lubrication
Application:
The CGI oil seal is a precision-engineered labyrinth seal designed for rotating shafts in oil-lubricated applications, ensuring reliable performance by preventing lubrication loss and contamination in motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
Product Detail
+
The CGI Labyrinth Seal is a precision-engineered, non-contact rotary seal designed to provide reliable bearing protection in oil-lubricated equipment. Unlike lip seals or mechanical faces, its advanced labyrinth geometry creates a tortuous path that effectively retains lubricant while blocking contaminants—without generating friction or wearing the shaft.
Constructed primarily from high-strength copper alloys, the CGI delivers excellent corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity for general industrial use. For extreme operating conditions, optional materials such as stainless steel, aluminum alloy, or PTFE are available to accommodate specific chemical or temperature challenges. The seal operates reliably within a broad temperature range of -26°C to 232°C.
By allowing the housing to "exhale" during shaft rotation, the design prevents internal pressure buildup while maintaining a constant barrier against external dirt and moisture. This makes the CGI particularly effective in applications where lubrication retention and contamination control are critical.
The CGI is widely used across the petrochemical, power generation, metallurgical, and pulp and paper industries—ideal for motors, gearboxes, and OH series pumps operating in continuous or demanding cycles.

Installation Instruction
+
• Before installation, the burrs and sharp edges on the shaft must be polished, and lubricating grease should be applied to the O-ring of the stationary ring.
• Press the bearing oil seal evenly into the end cover, and ensure that the oil drain hole of the oil seal is at the 6 o'clock position at the bottom and connected to the oil return hole of the gland after installation.
• After applying lubricating grease to the shaft and the O-ring of the stationary ring of the bearing oil seal, use both hands to press against both ends of the rotating ring of the oil seal, push the oil seal and the gland as a whole evenly along the shaft to the specified position. After installing the bolts, bar the shaft to confirm there is no abnormal noise or jamming.
